Nigerian comedian Warri Pikin is one of the only mainstream female standup comedians currently in Nigeria, and by far one of the most successful.
In an interview with Channels Television, Warri Pikin born Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha shared why there are so few female standup comedians, and why it is such a difficult industry for women to get into.
She said despite her fame in the field, she still gets her share of downgrade by many. Warri Pikin added that women have to work twice as hard.
