“Verydarkman has not been released yet, still locked up in Kuje prison” – Tosin Silverdam clarifies

Blogger, Tosin Silverdam has claimed that Verydarkman is yet to gain freedom despite his being granted bail on Monday, 10th June.

According to Tosin, Verydarkman is still detained due to unmet bail requirements.

He revealed that the activist’s bail was set at a substantial sum of 10 million naira, accompanied by demanding surety conditions.

Specifically, the court mandated that two sureties. These sureties must either be level 16 officers or private company owners, ensuring they possess significant financial stability and credibility.

Moreover, these sureties must present three years of tax clearance certificates, further emphasizing their financial reliability and compliance with Nigerian tax laws. In addition to these financial prerequisites, the court requires an affidavit of means from each surety.

He wrote:

“Verydarkman is not released yet, still locked up in Kuje prison because he’s yet to meet bail conditions. His bail was set at 10 million naira with two sureties in the same amount. The sureties must be a level 16 officer or a private company owner with three years of tax clearance, along with an affidavit of means.”
