Portable calls out Sony Music artist for giving him “bad career advice” in US

Nigerian singer Portable has sparked controversy after publicly calling out a certain Sony Music artist for giving him what he described as “bad advice” during his recent trip to the United States, where he met with superstar Davido.

The incident unfolded when Portable voiced his dissatisfaction in a video that circulated online.

In the video, he expressed frustration over being advised to join Empire music group rather than Sony Music, which he believes would offer greater global recognition.

Portable, visibly agitated in the video, questioned why he wasn’t encouraged to pursue a connection with Sony Music instead, emphasizing his desire for a music partnership that would elevate his career significantly.

He stressed the importance of making the right connections in the industry to propel him “from zero to 100.”

The meeting between Portable and Davido in Atlanta, where they were seen dining together, had initially sparked excitement among fans and followers.

However, Portable’s subsequent comments have drawn attention of many.

It is noteworthy that Davido himself signed a landmark deal with Sony Music in 2016, later renewing the agreement in 2023.
