Nigerian filmmaker, actor, and movie director, Ugezu J. Ugezu has replied to Ossai Ovie Success who criticized Davido’s outfit in his pre-wedding photos with Chioma.
Ossai had stated that Davido’s Yoruba attire was an insult to Igbo culture, as he was marrying an Igbo woman.
Ugezu Ugezu countered that Ossai’s statement was misinformed and had no basis in Igbo tradition.
He explained that people may dress in various attire for celebratory purposes, but it is not a cultural requirement.
Ugezu emphasized that no Igbo family would object to their in-law dressing in their traditional attire.
He advised Ossai to only speak about what he knows or ask questions to avoid spreading misinformation.
In his words:
“Please my brother, when you wish to talk about Ndigbo say only the things you know or you ask questions. What you just said has no place in Ugbo tradition.
People can do that for the razzmatazz, but it is not rooted in culture to warrant a mention. No family in Igboland will frown at their in-law because he dressed his root. One Love”.

In related news, Special Spesh, the hypeman of singer, Davido recently showed off bundles of dollars ahead of OBO’s wedding on Tuesday, 25th June 2024.
Taking to his Instagram page, Special Spesh shared a video of the bundles on what seemed like a bed as he lifted and caressed them one after another.
Sharing the video, Spesh simply added the hashtags for the big event.
The video amassed a lot of comments online with netizens asking whether the dollar were meant to be sprayed at Davido’s wedding hence Naira spray is prohibited.
