Netizens have heavily condemned Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji after she revealed her son, Jayce, bears her surname.
The mother-of-one shared an image of her six-year-old son and that of his cousin, Ryan, who is almost the same age as him.
The kids were taken to Paris on holiday because they are huge Marvel fans. The blogger intended for a sweet post and caption about the kids’ vacation, but fans swiftly turned things around.
Linda Ikeji was asked questions about naming her son after her father. They quizzed her on whether her father is Jayce’s dad and why she thought it was cool to give him her surname.
Linda Ikeji wrote on her page:
Reacting to the heavy negative reactions from netizens, Linda Ikeji took to her Instagram page to note that she never changed her son’s name because he had always been ‘Ikeji’ right from birth.
However, she added that if the boy wants to change it when he grows up, it would be his decision to make.
