Nigerian music icon D’banj, celebrating two decades in the industry, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to fellow artist Olamide for his contribution to his latest song, “Koko.”
In a touching Instagram post, D’banj, whose name is Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, shared a video of himself and friends dancing to the upbeat track while inviting fans to reflect on the significance of the word ‘Koko’ from 2004 to the present.
The song, a part of D’banj’s forthcoming album, holds sentimental value as it was penned by none other than Olamide, the acclaimed YBNL boss.
D’banj, in his Instagram message, showered praise upon Olamide for gifting him with what he termed as “an amazing jam.”
Addressing his fans, D’banj posed the question;
“What does the Koko mean to you Since’04 and right now in 2024?” This query not only encourages nostalgia for longtime fans but also sparks curiosity among newer audiences about the evolution of the term over the years.
The collaboration between D’banj and Olamide has elicited enthusiastic responses from fans, who flooded the comments section with their thoughts.
