Why I’m afraid to discuss Davido – Akon (VIDEO)

Renowned global music artist and lyricist, Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, known mononymously as Akon, recently caused a stir by revealing how talking about Afrobeats superstar Davido often lands him in hot water.

In a spirited and engaging interview, Akon was put on the spot and asked to choose his favorite between Nigerian music icons Davido and Wizkid.

Without missing a beat, he opted for Davido, but his reason was far from simple preference. Akon candidly confessed that every time he mentions Davido, he often gets into trouble, alluding to the fierce backlash he receives from the OBO crooner’s fervent fanbase.

Teasingly, he added that Davido would “whip his ass” if he picked Wizkid, injecting humor into the fun moment.

This fun take led to further observations about Davido’s tendency to shout, with Akon humorously confirming him as the “Ultimate shouter.”

This revelation comes years after the Senegalese-American artist and entrepreneur expressed his sharp views on the differences among Afrobeats stars Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.

Akon, the Konvict Music mogul, opened by lauding Burna Boy as a “beast,” emphasized his powerful presence and domination in the music world. He highlighted Burna Boy’s consistent ability to “kill the game” with his dynamic performances and chart-topping hits.

When talking about Wizkid, Akon described him as a natural “superstar.” He pointed out Wizkid’s effortless ability to maintain significant influence within the industry, noting that even releasing just one song a year keeps the entire music scene captivated by his enduring appeal.

Akon’s take on Davido was equally compelling. He called Davido the hardest working artist among the trio, attributing this to his role as the “underdog.” Akon suggested that Davido’s relentless drive stems from a need to continually prove himself, pushing him to work harder than anyone else to claim his place at the top.
