On Thursday, May 16, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received the Senegalese President Bassirou Faye at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
Dada Olusegun, President Tinubu’s special assistant on social media, disclosed this in a post on his X page on Thursday.
As reported by NTA, Faye arrived at 3:09 p.m. on Thursday and was received at the villa’s forecourt. This is his first visit to Nigeria since assuming office last month.
Faye, 44, the youngest president in Senegalese history, secured victory in a delayed presidential election in April, garnering over 54 percent of the votes.
He is the fifth and current President of Senegal sworn in on April 2, 2024.
According to Dada Olusegun, the State House is already buzzing with excitement about Faye’s visit, but Faye is linking up with Tinubu after his election victory.

In another related development, TimesNow.com.ng earlier reported that former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani said the struggle and the tenacity of the people of Senegal is inspiring in the emergence of 44-year-old Faye as president.
Sani said the victory of the opposition candidate, Faye, has cast a positive light on West Africa.
