Reality TV star Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has taken to social media to challenge a recent statement made by Apostle Femi Lazarus, the Lead Pastor of the Sphere of Light Church.
Apostle Lazarus, in a sermon, suggested that women lacking fatherly love in their lives tend to become sexually promiscuous.
Phyna, however, rebuked this assertion, citing her own life as evidence to the contrary.
In a video circulating online capturing Lazarus’s sermon, he remarked, “When a girl has not seen a father’s affection, she becomes sexually loose.”
This sweeping generalization drew criticism from Phyna, who highlighted her upbringing without a father figure and emphasized that she did not exhibit such behavior.
Taking to her Twitter account to express her dissent, Phyna wrote;
“Well bcuz I can make the mistake of generalizing things now I know better. Some of us that didn’t have a fatherly figure in all our existence, I will talk about me, I grew up well and was never loose sexually. Now I say sorry for the time I generalized my opinion.”
However, a social media user raised objections, referencing Phyna’s previous admission of undergoing an abortion.
In defense, Phyna clarified that she was 19 years old at the time of the abortion and was nearing the completion of her national youth service program.
“At least I was almost done serving Nigeria as kopa then around 19 to 20…,” Phyna added.
