I’m no longer interested in winning Grammy – Whitemoney announces

Big Brother Naija Season 6 winner, Whitemoney, has announced that he is no longer interested in winning a Grammy Award.

The reality TV star, who was once vocal about his desire to take home the coveted American award, has expressed his discontentment with the Grammy’s credibility.

Whitemoney’s change of heart comes after the controversy surrounding the last Grammy Awards ceremony, where Nigerian superstars, Davido and Burna Boy, were allegedly snubbed.

He believes that the Grammy organizers are using Nigeria for publicity stunts, and believes he’s not alone in his sentiment.

In a recent interview with content creator, Egungun, Whitemoney revealed that his target has shifted to the local Headies Awards. He stated:

The way things are going now, Grammy don cast. Make we manage Headies. I’m not sure if I’m still pursuing my desire of winning Grammys. Now I’m pursuing any award that keeps me relevant. Because after what Grammy organisers did to our superstars, Davido and Burna Boy at the last award ceremony, it’s now looking like they are using Nigeria for publicity stunt.

In another story, Whitemoney opens up on how bouncers prevented him from meeting Burna Boy .

He clarified that, in contrast to rumors that Burna Boy’s bouncers moved him, it was his own bouncers who kept him from seeing the singer.

Whitemoney highlighted that just as people vote for politicians and anticipate access to them, fans and supporters vote for celebrities by consuming their content, which helps them succeed.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the reality star stated that it’s critical for celebrities to stay in touch with the people who helped propel them to fame and professional achievement.
