BREAKING: Court issues fresh order to Police, DSS, others on Sanusi vs Bayero in Kano

Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu of the court gave the order on Tuesday, May 28, while delivering his verdict on the suit filed by Sanusi and four of Kano’s kingmakers.

The four kingmakers who filed the suit alongside Sanusi are Makaman Kano Ibrahim Sarki Abdullahi, Sarkin Dawaki Maituta Bello Tuta, Madakin Kano Yusuf Nabahani, and Sarkin Bai Mansur Adnan.

According to the ruling, the security agencies were also restricted from arresting or harassing the emir and the kingmakers.

This comes barely 24 hours after the same court issued an order restraining the deposed Emir Ado Bayero from claiming to be the Emir of Kano.

Justice Aliyu on Monday, May 27, ordered the police and other security agencies to remove Ado Bayero from the mini-palace in Nasarawa.

The judge ruled that the order was granted to the plaintiff in the interest of justice and peace of the state.

Bayero had returned to the state on Saturday, May 25, barely 48 hours after he was deposed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano and moved to the mini-palace in Nasarawa, where he had been parading himself as the Emir.

The deposed emir’s action was influenced by a federal high court order that stopped the Kano state government from implementing the law passed by the state assembly which abolished the five emirates established by the immediate past administration.
